LOCAL BUSINESSWOMAN MEETS
DAVID BLUNKETT AT CBI CONFERENCE

Sheffield businesswoman Wendi Hebb of
Made in Sheffield Dot Com has spoken to David Blunkett about the
benefits that her company's Internet initiative could bring to the city.

Wendi met the Secretary of State for Education and Employment yesterday
(November 10) at the CBI's National Conference where he was a guest speaker.

Said Wendi: "It was great to have the opportunity
to speak to David Blunkett about the enormous regeneration, training and
employment possibilities that the Made In Sheffield project can offer to our city."

Made In Sheffield Dot Com attended the CBI
conference at Birmingham's International Conference Centre at the invitation
of the event's sponsors Hewlett-Packard Limited.

Made in Sheffield Dot Com is already selling
a range of Sheffield made gifts on the Internet as part of e-Christmas, a Europe
wide e-commerce initiative backed by computer giant Microsoft and
Hewlett-Packard Limited. The site (at
www.e-christmas.com) was launched
on November 10 and has already attracted 40,000 visitors.

Made In Sheffield Dot Com has postponed the
launch of its own on-line Cyberstore until next spring in order to take part in
e-Christmas. "This will allow us to fine tune the distribution and administrative
systems we have in place for the Made In Sheffield Cyberstore,"
explained Wendi Hebb.

The Cyberstore (at www.made-in-sheffield.com/cyberstore)
will offer around 300 Sheffield made items, including cutlery, tableware,
design led and corporate gifts and jewellery.

Ends.
