February 19 1998 ARTISTS WANTED FOR
NEW INTERNET GALLERY
Made In Sheffield
Dot Com is inviting local artists
and craft workers to take part in a new Internet
Gallery, which is
set to open in Orchard Squares Craft Centre
in March.
The gallery will
offer traditional Sheffield made
products for sale along with contemporary art and
craftwork,
from jewellery and ceramics to photography and
sculpture.
"Were
looking for high quality products and
artwork that is worthy of the hallmark of
Made in Sheffield,"
explained Managing Director Wendi Hebb.
Visitors will be
able to use the gallerys
Internet link to view the Made In Sheffield Dot
Com web site
(at www.made-in-sheffield.com). Here they can shop
on-line in
the Made In Sheffield Cyberstore which will offer
over 300
products from local manufacturers and
craftworkers.
"Shopping on
the Internet is still a relatively
new idea for most people, so the gallery will
provide a tangible
link between the products and our web site
just like a mail order
catalogue shop but with everything on-line,"
said Wendi.
Sheffield based
artists and craft workers
can also join the Made In Sheffield Arts
Directory for free, if they
apply before March 6. The on-line directory
already includes over
60 artists and makers, covering ceramics,
furniture, jewellery,
sculpture, photography and textiles.
For more details
about the Made In Sheffield Internet Gallery,
or for an Arts Directory application form, please

Co-ordinator Amanda Bramall on 0114 249 3770.
