Sandra Howard - "Pride
of Britain"
Fundraiser of the Year 1999
Sheffield was in the national news again this week through the efforts
of one woman and her team of fundraisers.
Sandra
Howard, founder of the Charity FABLE scooped the Pride of Britain,
Charity Fund Raiser of the Year award.
The
award was presented to Sandra at the Dorchester Hotel in London
on Thursday 20th May at a star studded celebrity event . Sandra
rubbed shoulders with a host of celebrities such as the PM Tony
Blair, Richard Branson, Posh and Baby Spice, Sir Paul Mc Cartney
and many more.
The
trophy was presented to Sandra by footballer, David Ginola. This
award is the first ever "Pride of Britain, Charity Fundraiser of
the year for 1999.
Sandra
stated "This is a fantastic honour and recognition for our work.
Our team has raised over £200,000 for Fable
in the last four years. The the award
has firmly placed our charity on the map." We
hope that this publicity will help raise more funds to help people
living with epilepsy and point them in the direction of new treatments
now available.
