Fundraiser of the Year 1999

Sheffield was in the national news again this week through the efforts of one woman and her team of fundraisers.

Sandra Howard, founder of the Charity FABLE scooped the Pride of Britain, Charity Fund Raiser of the Year award.

The award was presented to Sandra at the Dorchester Hotel in London on Thursday 20th May at a star studded celebrity event . Sandra rubbed shoulders with a host of celebrities such as the PM Tony Blair, Richard Branson, Posh and Baby Spice, Sir Paul Mc Cartney and many more.

The trophy was presented to Sandra by footballer, David Ginola. This award is the first ever "Pride of Britain, Charity Fundraiser of the year for 1999.

Sandra stated "This is a fantastic honour and recognition for our work. Our team has raised over £200,000 for Fable in the last four years. The the award has firmly placed our charity on the map." We hope that this publicity will help raise more funds to help people living with epilepsy and point them in the direction of new treatments now available.

How did Sandra get involved with FABLE?
